How To Pray From Faith And Spiritual Authority
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We revisit why sonship is the foundation for prayer, then push deeper into praying with faith and God-given authority instead of letting emotions run the conversation. We share practical ways to build faith through Scripture and worship, plus what Jesus’ prayer in Gethsemane teaches us about endurance and surrender.
• praying from love instead of praying for love
• breaking perfectionism and people pleasing in prayer
• choosing faith over emotional swings and wishful thinking
• building faith by reading the Bible before praying
• using worship that exalts God rather than feeding pain
• finding Scriptures for your struggle and praying them daily
• praying God’s will by praying God’s Word
• learning to trust God’s “no” as protection
• stepping into spiritual authority through identity and intimacy
• Jesus in Luke 22 as a model of submission and endurance
That if they don't have a secret place, it's not too late to start, it's not too late to cultivate it. They can start today, Lord, simply by going into prayer and seeking your face, Father.
Hey y'all, welcome back to the Say That Again podcast. My name is Dina.
SPEAKER_01My name is Josh. And I'm Hetty. We're so excited to be back for episode two. Let's go. Let's go. And as you guys know, I have some guests with me. We have Dina and Josh, Dallara. So excited to have you guys today. Some of our young adult leaders. And man, we're just so excited. We we had a lot of great feedback, um, a lot of great testimonies from episode one. And we're just so excited to keep this going. Um, I know some of you guys have some thoughts of episode one, so just want to do a little recap on just what we talked about.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, for sure. It was an amazing episode. I think the
Welcome Back And Quick Recap
SPEAKER_00biggest thing that that hit me um was just how you talked about sonship, how we pray from a position of sonship. Obviously, if you're a daughter, you're praying from that position of being a daughter of the king, of a the the son of a king. I think it hit me the most because I feel like so many times we we pray at we do pray out of that, like that shame. We had we feel like we have to like approach the father in like such a we have we we feel like we have to approach the father acting like he doesn't know what's already going on. You know?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, or like our words have to be perfect every time. Exactly. I don't think I mentioned it,
Sonship Changes How We Pray
SPEAKER_01but something that just came to me is that when we pray from a place of shame or like an orphan spirit, we're praying for love. And when we pray from sonship, we pray from love. Yeah, yeah. And there's really powerful scriptures that talk about obviously about sonship, but one of my favorites is when Jesus got baptized in um the Jordan River. Is it the Jordan River? Yes. Um he got baptized that it says that the sky opened and that you heard a voice from the sky that said, My beloved son. Yes. So when Jesus started any kind of ministry or anything to do, it started from a place of knowing that he was loved and that he was a son. So when we pray from sonship, we pray from a place of love. Yeah. And when we have that shame, that orphan spirit mentality, we feel abandoned or rejected, we're praying for love, and we think that because we don't pray, that God doesn't love us.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So I think also in general, because I've I've like like you said earlier, I've heard I've heard so many, so many good stuff about the like that first uh can you keep a secret place. Like I've heard so much good stuff about it, and I think it's such an important topic because I've like again, like I'm going back to like I I've just been thinking about the whole all the times where I've approached God acting like I was like just like so like full of shame and full of like Lord, like I'm sorry, X, Y, and Z, like X, Y, and Z. And he already knows it. And like like you hit it um in the episode where you're like, yes, like repentance is good, confession of the sin is like it's good, but when the moment you start thinking and operating in the in the sense of knowing that you're a son, knowing that you're a daughter, I feel like it completely just shifts everything. It unlocks something.
SPEAKER_01It does. And this is where we get into episode two, which is praying from faith and authority and not from feelings. So when you pray from a place of sonship, you're able to pray from faith and authority. So I'm just so excited to talk about this with you guys today. I just want to start with some bars is that prayers rooted in faith and God-given authority move mountains. Prayers rooted in feelings, insecurity, or spiritual orphanhood don't. That's good. And I always have to remind myself that faith is not an emotion, faith is a position
Faith And Authority Over Feelings
SPEAKER_01and authority is an identity, and prayer is an expression of both. And the importance of understanding that we need to pray from a place of identity and faith. And that's when we activate, I believe, some of the most powerful prayers that we've ever experienced. I mean, have you guys ever do you guys remember a time where you've you know you prayed with faith and authority and something shifted?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, a hundred percent. I mean, I can even remember a time when I didn't, when that position was coming from insecurity and coming from, you know, perfectionism, and it had to be a certain way and it had to sound a certain way. Um, and I didn't see fruit from those prayers because it was rooted in such a dark place that God never intended for me to be in. So learning how to grow out of that perfectionism and just that people pleasing in a way as well, it really helped me gauge my prayers and like everything that I'm praying for. The Lord already knows, right? He already knows everything that I'm praying for. And if I come into position knowing that he has his my best interest in heart, I can pray with an authority, knowing that my father is going to take care of whatever I'm bringing to his feet, you know? Which before I was like pleading and begging. And I'm like, you don't have to come from a place of pleading and begging. He doesn't want that. It's a conversation. He wants to know what's wrong with his daughter, with his son, how he can help you. He knows how he can help you. But again, the Lord, a gentleman, he's not just gonna come into the situation without you wanting him to. He he needs to know that you are relying on him. So, in those prayers, like of just faith and knowing who he is, and also knowing my identity now in a better place of my walk with him, it's allowed me so much freedom in that, in that space of not having to beg. But it also helps now that I come with an a different, a different level of even vulnerability that I can come to him. So it's been it's a beautiful thing.
SPEAKER_01That's a great point. The begging part.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I've I've I think we've all gone through that where you find yourself begging and then you like, at least for me, it's like I snap out of it. It's like, wait, yeah, God has not been listening to me. It's almost been like a pity party, and God's like, Are you done?
SPEAKER_02Like a soapbox.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and a lot of the times that's a lot of people's prayers in the in the closet, like the intimate time, yeah, is just this pity party, you know, or we're just telling God the same things, you know. Forgive me, I'm sorry. Um, or we're just begging God, there's no faith, um, there's no like identity.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And we feel our prayers hit the ceiling and come back down, and then we get discouraged, and what happens? We stop praying. Yeah, right, or we just believe like there's no power in prayer. Yeah, but prayer is what moves mountains, prayer is what brings heaven down to earth. Prayer is given the authority to heaven to intervene on earth on your behalf. Yeah, so I think it's it's a powerful, one of the most powerful tools that we have. And it's and I I like what you said, Dean. It's not just a tool, it's it's a it's a place of conversation, yeah, with God. Yeah, you know, it's a two-way street, not just a one-way street.
SPEAKER_03It's not transactional. Yeah, that's great.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's gonna be a good episode.
SPEAKER_01I am excited. Yeah, we're really we're barely getting into it. So feelings don't move mountains, faith does. Jesus never said, if you feel like it, speak to the mountain. He said, if you believe, you will say to this mountain, move, and it will be move. So feelings fluctuate, faith stands. And I don't know about you, but I've had many prayer moments where I pray out of anger, yeah, I pray out of sadness, even of true like happiness and excitement. Yeah, but it's never from a place of faith. It's almost like a place of like hope or wish. Yeah, it's like wishing. Yeah, you know? Yeah. It's like let me throw a quarter in the fountain and see, you know, and do like a mental prayer and see if God comes through.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. When you when you said that, it kind of just reminds me, like in Romans 10, 17, we see like faith comes by hearing. And I feel like when we think about that, we think of the importance of prayer, we think of the importance of reading the word, we know that like those two things are very like they're staple things in in this walk with it with God. And in that time in Romans, they're talking about faith comes by hearing, so coming by living by the word of God, listen, like reading your word.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, and it makes me when I when I think about it, it makes me think like, okay, reading the word is important, studying the word is important, intimacy with the Father is important. If we're not doing
Building Faith Through Word And Worship
SPEAKER_00either of those things, where did where is our faith coming from? So if I'm not reading, if I'm not and I'm like, I'm not, I don't, when I say reading, I don't mean like skimming. I mean like if I'm scrolling the Bible. Scrolling the Bible, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Cliff notes, the synopsis. Is that a word? I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Is that a word? No, but if I'm just skimming, I'm not really reading and studying uh the word, I'm not letting it transform me, I'm not letting it impact me, and I'm not praying to hear the voice of the father. Yeah, where where's my where's my faith coming from if I'm not even talking to him or reading? That's a good point.
SPEAKER_01I'm I'm glad you brought that up because it's so easy for me to go into faith, right? We need faith and without faith, right? But it's like, okay, if faith is the issue, then we need to address that as like, do you even have faith? Or are you stimulating the muscle of faith? I know that sounds weird, but it's like, are you um stirring up your faith? And how do you do that? But what you were saying. Yeah, yeah. It's like you have to do those things. That's why for me, I think something very practical that I like to do to get my faith moving and activated is I like to read the Bible before I pray or as I pray. Yeah, I think it's one of the most simplest, powerful things to do to get your faith like moving right and active. And then even putting songs that I like, like songs that praise Him. Yes, not songs that focus on my emotions or my pain, right? Exactly.
SPEAKER_03Very self-centered lyrics, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Because if you listen to that, your brain is gonna go to the pain, yeah, to the suffering, and then you're gonna be back in that pity part of your life. You know, just like, okay, here we are again, I'm back.
SPEAKER_02Right, we back again, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but if you put those songs that focus on his greatness, yeah, on his goodness, on his mercy, and you're reading the word, do that for as long as it takes to to until you feel something shift in you, yeah, and then you start to pray after that, yeah, then that's how you start to pray from a place of faith and authority.
SPEAKER_03Yes. I mean, and for anybody that's listening, if you struggle with that, the one of the greatest pieces of advice that I've ever been given is take your circumstance and find what the Bible says about it and write it down. Write it down, place it in your most frequently like visited areas in your house. And so that way when you go to those places, you read, you're continuing to read the word throughout the day, and it's the things that are gonna help you combat with your struggling. If you're struggling with fear, anxiety, if you're struggling with lust, if you're struggling with, you know, all these different things, find those scriptures that can ground you, but then also flip it and use it in your prayer time, read it before you pray, and then just pray those things over your mind, over your spirit, um, and you'll see a shift. I mean, truly, because the word shifts atmospheres, it it it's amazing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's like literally almost like I feel like when you said that it I feel like it definitely hit someone, but I feel like I feel like the enemy could try to use that and be like, Whoa, if I can have faith, then why am I still going through this? You know, like if I what what's the point of faith if I'm still battling with this, if I'm still doing X, Y, and Z. And I think the if you hit it right on the dot is like finding the the word. If you if you see a situation and it you're thinking something negative about it, go to the word and apply it and literally let it transform you and let it literally, like you said, shift the entire atmosphere and literally just cancel out those lies.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. And faith is not like you said, I don't know how you exactly you just said it, but you said, I'm still going through it while I have faith. Faith isn't this band-aid that's gonna fix it and like, oh, I have faith, okay, then this is gonna get resolved in 20 minutes. It doesn't like one doesn't, it's not tied together. My faith is knowing that even though I'm in this circumstance, whether I have to go fully through this to learn something or it fully resolves, my faith is gonna stand regardless. Like, regardless of the situation doesn't fix itself. My faith is still gonna be what holds me, and the Lord is gonna sustain me through it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Literally just doing that, it's that's a form of faith, is bringing your struggles to the Father and saying, Lord, I don't know how I'm gonna get through this, but I trust you in this moment. Whatever it looks like, whatever it sounds like, this is it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and it could be a hardship that you have to go through because he's trying to actively build something in you. He's ref we all we all sang it for like what two years? Refine me. We're singing Refiner by Maverick. We kept singing it, and then everybody's lives just went crazy. I'm like, I'm like, bro, there's power in what comes out of your mouth, and you're singing these words. He's like, All right, let's let's refine you, let's let's pull, you know, all this stuff out. And it's just having the faith to know that he knows what he's doing and he knows what you need. Okay, preachers.
SPEAKER_01Man, I'm in a room full of preachers today. I love it. You guys have some some great points. Um I love what you were saying, Dina. Is sometimes people think, well, you know, all you need is faith, and that's gonna be the solution. No, honestly, faith is really given to us so we can endure.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And most people don't realize that they have that their faith is operating because people think, well, I'm just surviving. Yeah, you're surviving, but you're still holding on to Jesus through faith. Yeah, you know, faith is required to endure. You know, faith is required for you to hold on by that last hair, you know, by that last string on the rope, and you're not giving up. That's called faith as well. Because you're not turning your back on Jesus, you know, you're still holding on, you're still coming, you're still showing up. Sometimes that's how faith looks.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And sometimes that's how your prayers feel. They feel gritty, yeah, they feel heavy, they feel like sore, like I don't want to do this. But if if you apply those um faith activators, like that's what I'm calling them, I guess. Yeah, reading the Bible, listening to worship or praise that pray uh glorifies him and actually attacking those emotional things that you're going through with the word. Yeah, I think if you do that, even when you're going through a trying season, you're gonna have more success in prayer if you don't do those things. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03So that's good.
SPEAKER_01Um just kind of going off of that is mountains respond to spiritual authority, not emotional turbulence. God never commanded us to pray from how we feel, but from what he said.
SPEAKER_03Yes, that's good. That's so good.
SPEAKER_01When you pray his word, yeah, you will always have success. Yes. I've always told myself that and I try to tell people that with prayer, is I don't know what to pray. Pray his word. Because what is Matthew 6 when the disciples ask Jesus, you know, teachers how to pray. What was the whole theme of that? Well, let your will be done on earth
Praying Scripture And God’s Will
SPEAKER_01as it is in heaven. So if you're always praying his will, yes, you're always gonna see it manifest, or you God is gonna use you and he's gonna partner with you. So, how do you know his will? You read his word. Yeah, so if you're always reading the word, right back to the word, because you can't. I I believe that you can't have prayer without the word. Yeah, because most people, right? If this is a two-way conversation, I do believe that the Holy Spirit speaks to us and we can hear God's voice internally, even externally, or through a vision or a dream, however it be, but most of the time it's gonna come through the word.
SPEAKER_03It's good.
SPEAKER_01So it's like you pray and then you're reading the Bible and you feel those words just simmer in your heart. Yeah. You're like, okay, yeah, God's speaking to you right now. Yeah. You know, and then you start praying, and then you feel those words, and then God just reveals to you. Yes. If anybody that's listening that has never prayed with the word with the Bible open, I encourage you to do that. It will change your life. Yeah. Even just reading the Psalms. Yeah. Reading the Psalms, right? If you got some negative energy, you're sad, you're depressed, read the sad psalms, okay? And then find a psalm that gets happy and excited. You know, you, you know, you just you just went through it, right? You brought your burdens to the Lord, and then now you start praising them, right? That's where you put your favorite song, or you're reading your favorite psalms, and now you're just in a place of like, okay, let me let me start moving, you know, these mounts. Let me start praying with faith and identity.
SPEAKER_00Eddie said, Don't go to a sad song. Go to a sad psalm. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That's good.
SPEAKER_00That's good.
SPEAKER_01I mean, have you ever read those songs?
SPEAKER_02They could get sad, bro. They could get real sad.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, okay, this guy is really, he's going through it.
SPEAKER_02Like, yeah. He was in a sad boy era for real. Yes.
SPEAKER_01But you know, yes, like those you know, sad songs were not, they're not new in our generation. They're yeah. Psalms, they were the first sad songs recorded, I believe.
SPEAKER_03No, I love what you said about just like well, back like way back when we were talking about faith and prayer and just, you know, praying these sad prayers and praying what we want, our will, you know. But then the shift of when we pray with the word and pray, you know, what he's saying, and to counteract what's happening in the natural, like with the with the spirit and with what's in the word. Um I just I've seen I've seen the Lord move. I I've I'm thankful for the times where I prayed from a place of like sadness and my will, and it didn't happen. I've looked so I've looked back in my life and I'm like, thank you, Lord, for not answering those prayers because that is not what I needed. That that is selfishly what I wanted. Yeah, but you know, we all sometimes can have a little narcissism in us, and we want, you know, me, me, me. And I'm like, Lord, so thank you so much for not giving me what I thought I needed. Because I look at my life now and I'm like, Lord, thank you. Because I can see your hand and I can see the nose, and I'm so grateful for all the no's that he gave me. And now I'm like, Lord, just your will. I just want your will. I just want to know that I'm aligned with your word and doing what you want me to do. So it's a you can see a difference from like 20-year-old Dina to now 30-year-old Dina. I'm like, Lord, thank you. Because you I can see that he's been the author of my life, and I'm so thankful.
SPEAKER_01That's good. That's really good.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's good.
SPEAKER_01I think um just going back to what you said, I I started thinking about like, you know, those moments too where God didn't answer my prayers.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I was like, thank you, God. Yeah, you know, I could have been lost, or I could have been obsessed with money, I could have been focused on building my own personal empire instead of his kingdom.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, you know, just being lost in so many ways. So I think that's a perk of being in sonship. Yeah. Is that God would protect you as a son or a daughter. It's like, no, I'm not gonna give you that. It's like with me and my children. You know, if they're asking me for Coca-Cola or something with a lot of sugar, yeah, that's gonna, you know, drive them crazy or super hyper, or if I'm gonna let my my little boy use a bicycle without training wheels, and he's saying, like, I can do it, it's like, I don't think you're ready yet, you know? Yeah, those little things, it's like I love you enough to protect you, and even though you're asking, because that's what we do in prayer, you know, a lot of the times, it's like I'm not gonna do for you. Yeah, but if anything, instead of me taking off the training wheels, I'm gonna actually be there with you and kind of make it feel like the training wheels are off, yeah, but I'm gonna like distract you from that. You know what I mean? And that's that comes from a place where your prayer turns into intimacy. Yes. Where it's not just like a job or let me um just come pray a list. It's more of a you're just hanging out with the father. Yeah, and I think when you live from that place, it the whole dynamics of prayer changes. Cause now it doesn't matter where you go, you can pray.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Right? You can have a conversation. Yeah. It's like sending a voice memo to God, but He's always there, right? And He's always listening to you. So um something that I wanted to say. Mountains don't obey moods, they obey faith. So when it comes to you know moving these mountains, because I again I believe
Intimacy Turns Prayer Into Conversation
SPEAKER_01that prayer has power, and I think the world in general has gone through so much, right, through COVID, and even America, our nation, I know all nations experience a lot, but just like the violence that happens in our country, right? I think we can get discouraged and almost think like, why do I gotta pray? How you guys are saying, but I just want to remind people that prayer has power. Yes, that prayer is power, and if you feel like you don't have power in your life, pray. Right? Pray. If you just feel like there's more and you're missing you're missing something, maybe is that you're not you're not coming to that place of true prayer where you're praying again in faith with the word, right? Exalting God. Um so just tackling authority here for a little moment. Authority comes from identity. You pray differently when you know who you are and whose you are. It's good. Authority is inherit inherited and not earned, it flows from being a son and not a spiritual beggar. Like you were saying, Dina.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Sometimes I know I've caught myself being a beggar. It's like I slap myself.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It's like, wait, no, I'm a son. And every time I like shift that mindset, I literally almost like get angry, but I feel an authority rise. And then, you know, what we call spiritual warfare, yeah, is it's just praying from authority most of the time, right? Is that we really just kind of feel like this
Spiritual Authority And Holy Fight
SPEAKER_01fire light up in us. It's like, you know what? I'm tired of this situation. You know, like I'm tired. I'm a son of God, I'm a daughter of God, and today you just picked the wrong person to mess with. You picked the wrong one. Like the devil and what he's trying to do. Yeah. And that's and you feel uh like a holy rage come in and the faith, right? Builds up, and then you start to pray with like so much like intensity. Yes, you know, you've had those prayer moments, right? And you feel like almost something break in the spirit, yeah. And maybe the situation doesn't um fix immediately, or you see an immediate reaction in the physical world or to that problem, but something shifted in you, yeah. Or now you have a different attitude, you have a different perspective. Yes, or when you approach that situation, you're like in a in a different place where you can approach it from the wisdom of God or with the mind of Christ, or you're just like it's not gonna bother me the same anymore. Yeah, no, that that the pokings of the devil is not gonna get you anymore. Yes, your confidence shifts, yes, yes, and then a few weeks later you forget, but that whole issue, or you got the answer in prayer, and it's like, oh wait, like I'm in it's it's a different place now. Yeah, but we have to pray, right?
SPEAKER_03We have to pray.
SPEAKER_00Um I mean, you said authority comes from identity. I think also I would I would even say, like we've been saying, authority comes from the intimacy and submission to the Father and submission to his will, submission to whatever he's trying to do in the moment, even when things do hit us hard, you know. Um I think like you described like that like holy, like like that anger of like just like the enemy's not gonna let like touch me anymore. Like I'm not gonna I'm gonna shake it off and I'm gonna fight back. I think I think faith and authority both play a huge I mean they do. They they they play such a big part like in us praying those prayers that that that really do shift things, that really do move mountains, I really do open doors when doors are closed. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00Um I even want to say like when we're reflecting on Jesus' life, like he lived a life full of just submission, you know, he he submitted to to the Lord's will, like the Father's wills. He submitted to even when it was like hard, hard for him. And I um I want to share in in Luke 22, uh Luke 22, 39 through 44, when he's praying in the garden. Um for context, if you don't know, he was praying in in the garden right before he had just told the disciples that he was um that he was gonna be sent to the cross, he was gonna be betrayed and all that. He had just told them, so he went to go pray. Um and he literally had the weight when we're reading it, and I'm I want to read it, it's like only five verses, small verses. He went to go pray,
Jesus In Gethsemane And Enduring Faith
SPEAKER_00knowing with the weight of the circumstances that he already knew was gonna happen. So he went to go pray, knowing, knowing that he was he was gonna be sent to the cross, knowing that he literally had humanities in his hand, you know, like knowing he was carrying the the weight of the sin of the world. So when um Is it okay if I for everybody real quick? So he says, He went he went out and made his way as as usual to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed him. When he reached the place, he told them, Pray that you may not fall into temptation. Then he withdrew from them about a stone's throw, knelt down, and began to pray. Father, if you are willing to take this cup away from me, nevertheless, not my will, but yours be done. Then an angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthened him. Uh, being in anguish, he prayed more fervently, and his sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground. When he got up from prayer and came to the disciples, he found them sleeping, exhausted from their grief. Why are you sleeping? He asked them. Get up and pray so that you don't fall into temptation. And why I read that is because I feel like you could really talk about multiple things just throughout that. In the very beginning, if we're if we're we want to be mended with Jesus, we want to have the same heart, we want to be a reflection of Jesus, we want to do what he did, we want to have the same authority as him, we want to have all this all this stuff. The the foundation of it was just walking in submission to the Father. It's walking in submission to the Father and having an intimacy with the Father. And you see it now at the beginning, he said that when you look at the beginning, every time he he steps away to go pray in the in a secret place. And that and just like the message, can you keep a secret place? If we're being reflections of Jesus, we should have a secret place of intimacy with the Father. Um, and then I I even think like as you go more down, when we're experiencing hardships, he like I said earlier, he experienced the hardships of whatever that he he knew what he was about to endure. He experienced it so much that he was bleeding, uh, like he was sweating blood. And I looked into it, and it's actually like it's a it's a real like medical condition. And I think it's hold on, let me find this word. It's called hematidrosis, and it's such a it's a very sounds like a dinosaur. It's a very um, it's a very rare, rare condition. You never find it. And I and I felt like there was there's a coincidence in that. I said, because only a handful of people have ever experienced it in the twenty just alone in the 20th century. Because I and then I when I was I was reading it, I got really convicted reading this last night because as I was reading it, I was like, we were never meant to carry the weight that he did. So I feel like when we're having these hardships, when we're having these moments of like, I really gotta like go into war, I really gotta go into my authority and know my authority. When we're having these moments, just know that it's already been paid for. Like he he like we're talking in the we're reading it now. He he literally sweated blood because of the weight and stress and anxiety. You know what I mean? And I think that for me alone, that just helped me like whatever I'm going through, it's already been paid for. It's he's he's already walking me through. Um, but yeah, I wanted to just share that.
SPEAKER_01That's good, George. Absolutely. I think it should give us um uh more confidence in prayer, yeah, knowing that Jesus paid for it, like paid just for us to have an inheritance, have sonship, that we have grace, that we have mercy, and that if anybody's ever had a battle in prayer or gone through some things in prayer, yeah, it's Jesus. Exactly. The King of Kings, the Lord or Lord's Himself. When he the toughest prayer ever at this point, maybe the toughest prayer ever recorded in the history of humanity, is that prayer carrying the weight and the sin of the world. Yeah. But he kept it from a place of sonship. He kept it, or he was able to manage that from a place of knowing that he's love, that he's a son. And ultimately, like this is my mission. You know, this is what I came to earth to do. Yeah. And that's where remember what we talked about. That's how faith also faith looks like surviving or enduring the pain.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That his faith in that moment looked different. It didn't look excited, it didn't look passionate in the sense of hype or like, you know, loud voice and loud music or having the perfect atmosphere, right? Right. No, it's this was pure anguish, but it was pure faith. Yeah, it was pure passion and pure love for the father for us. And I think we can take a lot um as we end this episode, because we're gonna have to do a part two. You guys are amazing, time flies, but I think we can definitely um take a note of what you just read. Yeah, it's just when you don't feel like praying, or you already kind of know the outcome of what's happening in your life, you know, the circumstances, and you think, well, there's no reason to pray. No, there is always a reason to pray. There's always a reason to just go to the Lord. Maybe you're not gonna pray to move the mountains, maybe you just gotta pray to endure the uphill battle up the mountains because you know that that's part of the process that you're in, and it's okay. You know, sometimes it's not about praying for
Final Takeaways And Prayer Out
SPEAKER_01the answer to come immediately, but it's it's just praying, Lord, get me through this. Yes, and that requires faith. Yes, and that's the whole point of when you pray from that place of sonship with faith and authority, they're not pretty prayers all the time, right? I think it's important for us to understand that. So thank you so much for bringing that up. Um, just so grateful for this episode. So we have so much to talk about, guys. We'll probably leave that for episode three. But uh, Dina, can you pray us out today?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, of course. Father, I just thank you. I thank you for this day, Lord. I thank you for every uh person under the sound of my voice, Lord. And I just pray that, Father, that their faith would rise like never before in this season, Lord, that you would show them your hand, God. And I just pray for this passion to go into the secret place to rise in every person, every person that's listening to this podcast, that they would know, Lord, to seek you in their secret place, Father. That if they don't have a secret place, it's not too late to start, it's not too late to cultivate it. They can start today, Lord, simply by going into prayer and seeking your face, Father. Lord, I thank you for what you've done for each person in this in in this room, Lord, in this entire podcast, Father. And I just pray your hand, Lord. I pray favor, I pray protection. And Lord, I just pray that people would come to realize their authority in you, the authority that you have placed in each and every one of them as sons and daughters. And I pray that they would rise up in boldness and encourage in Jesus' name. Amen.
SPEAKER_01Amen. We love you guys, and we're so excited. And we'll see you in the next one. See you in the next one.
